Looking back at 2018, we are deeply grateful for our community support and proud of what our residents achieved with the help of our dedicated staff. Last year, we served an all-time high of nearly 300 people.

Real Data, Real Results — The 2018 Annual Report —

We invite you to download our 2018 Annual Report and see the tremendous outcomes we were able to achieve thanks to partners like you. This year we go deep into our data, highlighting facts about both the changing epidemic and the people we serve. Here are two insights in the 2018 Annual Report that may surprise you …

Each face above represents around 25 people. The yellow faces represent the 250 residents we house. The white faces represent the over 380 people on the Clare Housing waiting list in need of permanent housing solutions. The need for more housing is urgent and real.

Forty-percent of Clare Housing residents have a prior conviction. According to Wilder Research, 11 of 15 criminal offense categories had no effect on the ability of a person to pay their rent and maintain housing successfully. However, housing discrimination for people with a criminal history is rampant, creating yet another barrier to housing and health.

Download the full report and learn more about our most recent success, as well as the real barriers that confront Minnesotans who are extremely low-income and living with HIV. In addition to facts and figures, we also share resident stories to provide human context to the trends.

In 2018, Foster lost the ability to walk. Through it all, staff has supported him: getting Foster to appointments, and helping him with daily tasks. In 2019, he aims to walk again. He says that the care he receives from staff is essential to his success.

Yet again this year, 90% of our residents are undetectable. Undetectable = untransmittable. With an undetectable status, it’s virtually impossible for you to transmit the virus. Although there is more work to be done, the effort that our residents are making to take control of their health with the aid of housing and supports is working.

If you feel inspired by the progress we have made, and by residents like Foster, we invite you to make a donation today. We are already working on ways to house every last person on our waiting list. Your support makes our mission possible now and tomorrow. Thank you.
