Bri Hennessy named new Community Care Homes Manager —

Clare Housing is thrilled to announce that Bri Hennessy has accepted a new role as Community Care Homes Manager! With her years of care experience, she is sure to be an excellent leader. Let’s learn a little bit about Bri in her own words.

Can you tell us what initially attracted you to working with Clare Housing?

I actually used to work in an HIV research lab at Fred Hutchinson in Seattle, and after a couple years I realized I wanted to work more with people. I started volunteering at the Bailey Boushay House which is a hospice, HIV outpatient, and homeless shelter facility in Seattle and I absolutely loved it. So, when I moved back to Minneapolis a year later, my friend who worked at Clare referred me. That was 4 years ago this September!

Tell us a bit about your history with Clare Housing and how you expect this experience to inform your NEW role.

Well, I started out as a caregiver part time, which turned to full time, and then to a Lead Caregiver role where I was at one of the care homes for about a year. I then switched over to Lead Caregiver at another house, and not long after that I accepted the CCHM position. I feel very fortunate to be going straight from Lead caregiving to CCHM. It gives me the advantage of knowing all the residents and their cares in depth, and I am familiar with all of the staff as well. With this knowledge and experience I know I can serve everyone to my best abilities.

What personal values are you looking forward to bringing to this new role?

I definitely want to have things overall be more inclusive. I want all caregivers to feel heard and supported, and to have them and even residents more included so we all can feel like a team. Clare Housing wouldn’t be able to function without our caregivers! I also strongly support harm reduction and love that Clare’s values are in line with that.

Tell us a fun or surprising fact about you, or about what you like to do in your free time!

In my free time, I spend it with my loved ones and critters (2 dogs, 1 cat, and 1 ball python!). I am constantly chipping away at my long list of books, starting a new crafty project, camping, or going on long motorcycle rides on my Harley!

Thank you, Bri! Congratulations on your new position!
