Staff Member Starr Emery Celebrates 23 Years! — July 3, 2020
This is pretty incredible! This year our staff member Starr Emery is celebrating her 23rd anniversary of working at Clare Housing. Please join us in thanking Starr for all the incredible kindness and hard work she’s shared with our residents over the decades! Here’s a little interview we did with her about her work …What do you do here at Clare Housing?
I currently am at Marshall Flats and am a Resident Assistant. I started working at Grace House I and II. I was Lead Caregiver at Clare House and Agape over the years.
What do you like the most about your job?
As Caregiver and Lead Caregiver I supported many residents in hospice and end of life care. Supporting residents and their families during this important time was fulfilling and surprising. I connected with people I would have never known and was able to expand my own soul. It really fed my soul to see a peaceful journey for residents.
What do you like to do for fun, or what’s a fact about you that would surprise people?
I have played the upright and electric bass for more than 40 years. I am rusty but still enjoy it.
