Jeremy Butler Promoted to Housing Stability Specialist — August 29, 2022
Jeremy started at Clare Housing as a Resident Assistant, and was promoted to Housing Stability Specialist. Let’s learn a bit more about him together!
Can you tell us what initially attracted you to working with Clare Housing?
I was initially attracted to Clare Housing due to our Housing First/Harm Reduction approach. My goal is to become a LADC [Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor] within the next few years, and I believe it is of the utmost importance to place focus on adding harm reduction approaches to mainstream recovery to better assist a more expansive grouping of people suffering from substance abuse.
Tell us a bit about your work history and how you expect this experience to inform your NEW role.
I have experience working on political campaigns that are targeted towards groups of disadvantaged people. It helped teach me reasons that people end up in less than ideal situations, and now I am excited to take a more direct role in alleviating effects that stem from those varying situations.
What personal values are you looking forward to bringing to this new role?
I am looking forward to continuing to meet people where they are at without judgement.
Tell us a fun or surprising fact about you, or about what you like to do in your free time!
A fun fact about me is that prior to working on political campaigns I worked as a drag queen across the city, so feel free to talk to me about all things drag.
