Mike Greenstein has joined Clare Housing as new Chief Financial Officer —

The leadership team at Clare Housing is thrilled to announce that Mike Greenstein (he/him) has started as the new Chief Financial Officer this week! Let’s learn a bit more about him together!

Can you tell us what initially attracted you to working with Clare Housing?

I had done consulting work at Minnesota AIDS Project/JustUs Health/Rainbow Health and heard great things about Clare Housing.  This is an important organization that provides valuable service and I’m glad to be part of it!

Tell us a bit about your work history and how you expect this experience to inform your NEW role.

I’ve been a full-time CFO at several different companies and became an independent consultant about 10 years ago.  I work primarily with entrepreneurs and non-profits as they grow and evolve, helping them strengthen their infrastructure to ensure long-term success.  My role at Clare Housing is to help balance the many challenges and needs with available resources and to make sure managers have the financial tools they need to be effective.

What personal values are you looking forward to bringing to this new role?

Entrepreneurs and non-profits are very similar in that they are all mission-based and dedicated to helping people in a variety of ways.  For some, like Clare Housing, it’s about helping people meet their most basic needs and for others, it might be about creating a product or service that makes lives better.  It may sound cliched, but I’ve always enjoyed being involved with organizations that have a higher purpose and seek to do good in the world.

Tell us a fun or surprising fact about you, or about what you like to do in your free time!

Later this spring my wife and I and some friends will be going on our dream vacation on a cruise to the Greek Islands!

Welcome, Mike! We’re so glad to have you here!
