How We’re Responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic —

We know many of you are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 (the new coronavirus) and how it may impact us here at Clare Housing. Ensuring residents are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is our first priority. Unfortunately, many of our residents meet the higher risk category for COVID-19: immunocompromised, underlying respiratory issues and older than 65. This is why we are being extra cautious.

At this time, we do not have any cases in our care homes or apartment buildings. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) have recommended a variety of steps that we are implementing to help reduce the potential for the virus to enter our building.

Among other things, frontline staff working directly with residents will continue to observe proper procedures to help prevent the entrance and spread of COVID-19 into our communities.

All volunteer activities and community events within our buildings have been suspended for the time being, and efforts are being made to reduce casual visits to residents. We also have procedures in place for what to do if a resident or staff member were to present symptoms of or be formally diagnosed with COVID-19.

The Clare Housing leadership will continue to evaluate our policies and revise them as the pandemic develops.
