Preston and Cornell met six years ago. For the first two years of their relationship they lived apart and struggled with drug addictions. Both wanted to change their lives and made the choice to find a way to be together.

"Back in the early days, people were dying right away," Jon recalls. "Their life expectancy was maybe 3 months to a year, where now people are living a lot longer. That's why they have these homes."

Clare Housing understands that the love and affection given by an animal can provide wonderful comfort and support to our residents. This is why there are pets in many of our homes, like Flash and Freddie. Several residents in the apartments also enjoy the company of their own dog or cat.
