Thanks to a partnership with the American Heart Association, Clare Housing has two new blood pressure hubs for residents and community members. High blood pressure affects more than 100 million Americans and remains one of the leading causes of preventable death. May is National Blood Pressure Month, and we are grateful to have the new hubs available at Clare Terrace and Clare Marshall Flats.
Through the "Screen, Educate, and Refer" initiative, the American Heart Association provided automated blood pressure cuffs, educational materials, referral information, and staff training at no cost to Clare Housing. Residents and community members are able to use the hubs to monitor their blood pressure and access information about prevention and heart health.
The partnership was introduced by Claire Fleming, Community Impact Director for the Twin Cities at the American Heart Association, who also serves on the Clare Housing Board of Directors. Claire says that blood pressure hubs were designed to “meet people where they already are” and make it easier for community members to stay informed about their health.
This collaboration reflects Clare Housing’s continued commitment to supporting the health and wellness of residents through accessible, community-based care and education.
